The Stone House

Stone, sea and silence

The Stone House is an authentic Cretan stone villa in the hills near Agia Galini, with open views toward the Libyan Sea. Thick stone walls, wood and metal meet a calm contemporary interior — three equal master suites, an infinity pool on the terrace below, and room for six guests, or eight with the living-room sofa bed.

This is the Golden South of Crete — a coast of nature and open sea rather than crowds, spared the overdevelopment that changed other shores. Around you are small beaches worth the drive, tavernas by the water, and hills made for walking.

Mornings here begin with the song of the cicadas — you wake behind thick stone walls and take breakfast on the balcony while the light finds the Libyan Sea. Afternoons drift between the infinity pool and the shade, to the same music; in the evening the sun sets away to the west, sliding along the coast, and later the stars take over above the terrace.

Days lose their edges. Whatever you left behind feels very far away — which is rather the point.

Evenings above the sea

At dusk the architectural lighting comes on — stone walls, pool and terraces softly lit while the sky fades over the Libyan Sea.
